Ball Valves Type

1. By Structure

  • Floating Ball Valve:

    • The ball is not fixed and can slightly move inside the valve body.

    • Sealing is achieved by the fluid pressure pushing the ball against the downstream seat.

    • Suitable for low to medium pressure applications, typically with smaller diameters.

  • Trunnion Ball Valve:

    • The ball is fixed by upper and lower trunnions, preventing movement.

    • The seat moves to maintain sealing.

    • Ideal for large diameter and high-pressure conditions, with lower operating torque.

  • Eccentric Half-Ball Valve:

    • Features a partially open ball with an eccentric design for opening and closing.

    • Excellent sealing and suitable for media with particles or fibers.

  • V-Port Ball Valve:

    • The ball or seat has a V-shaped notch, allowing precise flow control.

    • Provides good flow regulation and is often used in applications requiring flow adjustment.

2. By Port Design

  • Two-Way Ball Valve:

    • The simplest type with a single inlet and outlet, used for straightforward on/off control.

  • Three-Way Ball Valve:

    • L-Port: Switches flow direction between two different channels.

    • T-Port: Allows connection of three channels, useful for mixing or diverting flow.

    • Available in L-shaped and T-shaped flow paths:

  • Four-Way Ball Valve:

    • Typically used in complex flow path switching and multi-channel control scenarios.

3. By Connection Type

  • Flanged Ball Valve:

    • Connected to the pipeline using flanges.

    • Suitable for large-diameter and high-pressure applications, offering easy installation and removal.

  • Threaded Ball Valve:

    • Uses threaded connections, mostly for small-diameter and low-pressure systems.

  • Welded Ball Valve:

    • Connected through welding, providing a leak-free and durable solution for permanent installations.

  • Clamp Ball Valve:

    • Commonly used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, designed for easy disassembly and cleaning.

4. By Actuation Method

  • Manual Ball Valve:

    • Operated manually with a handle or handwheel, suitable for simple and non-automated systems.

  • Pneumatic Ball Valve:

    • Driven by a pneumatic actuator, allowing fast on/off operations.

    • Often integrated with automation systems.

  • Electric Ball Valve:

    • Operated by an electric actuator, enabling remote and automated control.

    • Ideal for high-precision flow regulation and automated processes.

  • Hydraulic Ball Valve:

    • Powered by a hydraulic system, often used in high-pressure and large-diameter applications.

5. By Application

  • High-Pressure Ball Valve:

    • Designed for high-pressure environments with reinforced structure and special materials.

  • Cryogenic Ball Valve:

    • Suitable for low-temperature applications (e.g., LNG, liquid nitrogen systems).

    • Constructed with materials that withstand brittle behavior at low temperatures.

  • Sanitary Ball Valve:

    • Used in food and pharmaceutical industries, made of stainless steel, and designed for easy cleaning.

  • Control Ball Valve:

    • Provides flow control capabilities, typically with a V-port design or smart actuator integration.
